Earlier tonight a small t-storm band passed through. Two or three times lightning struck VERY close to the building. So close it has knocked the card swipes on the doors offline, making it impossible to open the doors from outside. They've been out for just over an hour so far. Right now everyone has to come to the front door and be let in by the Student Assistant. If the swipes are not brought back up by midnight anybody outside will be stuck there unless there is somebody in the lobby as the front desk is being closed at midnight this week. It is break right now and nobody could be found to cover those shifts, that and there is no reason to have a 24 hour desk with most of the residents gone. At least it happened this week instead of next as the desk will be totally closed from Saturday morning sometime (the 13th) until the 16th.
