The second day was record heat in downtown Vegas (for that date in July, I think)-- 117 degrees F. I was inside the exhibition hall, shivering violently in the air conditioning under my dress pants, silk shirt, blazer, and full set of thermal underwear. I am a bit of a reptile, but this time I was far from the only person who was uncomfortably cold. I was, however, definitely the only person who packed thermal underwear for a trip to Vegas in July.
