military. Or Germany's. Or France's.
But in order for the UN to be effective, it must be able to impose sanctions on individuals as well as nations. No matter which nation an individual is from.
Would you be happier if the UN had stricter regulations for membership? Something about only allowing countries that uphold a minimum of human rights?
Would the US be allowed, considering what it is doing with Guantanamo Bay, and the Iraqi prison scandal? Do you wonder why the US don't want the UN to assert any power over US citizens? |
