Truly reasoned debate would theoretically lead to compromise in positions. If all it's done is push conservatives out, then its obviously not that reasoned. I would say that the likelyhood is that his site wins arguments by Proof-by-innundation™ or swarming rather than by actual debate. If one conservative is defending attacks from 10 liberals its hard to keep track of the arguments, then someone claims they won because the conservative didn't respond to their post.
