What is stopping the UN... by esbita2005-08-09 13:13:25
I am convinced that the US would never by Peace_man 2005-08-09 14:41:48
allow the UN to have any power over any US citizen, soldier, or foreign policy. And this is a very large part of what makes the UN powerless.

The UN cannot be effective if it cannot enforce its policies, decrees and regulations with sanctions. And if it cannot enforce them on the US, why should any other country allow the UN to sanction it?

So when the US cannot use the UN to further its voracious foreign policies, it takes the privileges that the UN enjoyed and assume them for itself. And right now there is no force on Earth to stop it. And many shortsighted people in the US go 'yeah us' because they think they see an advantage to themselves.

Idiots. If the world is worse off, with more violence, then everybody is worse off. And violence has a bad habit of coming home to roost. Hmm - considering the violent crime statistics, maybe it has already.
