But if you REALLY care, go take a look at all of Bush's "state of the union" addresses. He stated numerous reasons for the invasion of Iraq. Also, go digging through the FACTUAL articles of the time before the invasion. Most of the sensationalist media reported WMD as the main reason because big bad weapons of mass destruction sell papers, whereas the freeing of oppressed people, or the abolishment of a failing policy (sanctions) are things that your average reader won't understand or won't care about.
And more importantly, lack of evidence is not proof of dishonesty. If you truly beleive that your neighbour is abusing his wife and you report him to the police, but have no real solid evidence, you're not neccesarily a liar when the courts fail to prove your allegations.
Try to be a little objective dammit. The whole Bush = Evil thing got real old real fast. Things are rarely that simple. |
