If this is a "democracy," why should we be providing people for military forces controlled by officials that we haven't had the chance to elect?

The US is no better and no worse than the other nations. We're just able to act more the spoiled brat because we have the money to do so. I remain unconvinced that giving our money and troops to another organization would result in behavior any less petty and corrupt.
