it looks as though Earthlink is reselling the Bell and RoadRunner services. That is not uncommon (they would have to get access to your lines somehow to connect you). I would go with cable, Earthlink is slightly cheaper. of course, you may be able to pit the cable co against the Earthlink DSL and get a better price out of RR. I know people around here tahat did that with Verizon and Comcast. The fact that the speeds and services were different didn't matter...a simple "Verizon is offering me DSL for $10 a month less than you are offering me cable service for" can work.
