It didn't lock anything up. It recognized the server and prompted me for the password, but as soon as I typed it in, it said that the server unexpectedly closed the connection. What O/S is his computer running? If it's XP, he should be able to use Remote Desktop. That won't allow him to see both monitors, but it will allow him to connect, at least, and see the desktop from his primary monitor.
