| expect to see European dignitaries from the UN get caught up in this net as well. It was not in their interests to see the sanctions end while there was money to line their pockets with. It was the best of both worlds for Saddam and the corrupt officials at the UN. Everyone got to line their pockets, including Saddam, and Saddam got to blame his people's suffering on the UN sanctions and the US. |
