DSL or cable? by tallastro2005-08-09 08:47:38
Go with cable by synack 2005-08-09 08:59:54
DSL is a pain. You usually have to buy the modem rather than have one provided to you. You also usually have to sign a year-long contract because many people, once they get DSL, find that they hate it. You also have to worry about the quality of the copper pair running to your house whereas the cable lines are newer and don't have nearly the same degredation that you see in a lot of areas' phone network. You have to worry about how far you are from the local office for both DSL and cable; however, cable has a greater range than DSL. The only perk that I know of for DSL is that the bandwidth allotted to you is guaranteed whereas cable bandwidth is shared with everyone else in your general area.

Actually, that reminds me - I'm finally able to cancel my DSL so I should do that today before I forget.
