The European corporations are ticked about losing the sweet deals they had in Iraq (iirc, it was legal in many European countries to deduct bribes off your earnings statements as a normal cost of business, until 1999 or so). Starting a war by the strategies the US government used was wrong. However we don't seem to hear a lot from our European friends about THEIR corporations and diplomats enriching themselves by dodging trade sanctions meant to hem in a dangerous dictator.

Even if the "new information" said that Saddam's main target was Iran if he ever got enough resources, whatever fight he picked would be on the conscience of those who skirted the sanctions to fatten their pockets.
