is the discount cards at some of the grocery stores.
Now, some of these are just loyalty programs. They do track what you buy, to give you tailored coupons, but at least one of them lets you disable that part, while still giving you a discount certificate after every $250 or $500 of purchases. Fine.
But the grocery store closest to me, and that I otherwise like best, has their club card mixed up with a check cashing card. The application requires me to give them all of my bank account information, social security account number, bra size, and grandmother's cookie recipe. I never write checks to them; there is no *way* they're getting all of that personal info just so I can get the lower price on peaches. Bleah. |
