Just after getting the test the nurse explained to me carefully that it is important not to scratch. So I was holding my arms in the oh-so akward position with my eyes screwed shut thinking about my happy-place where there was no itching. After about ten minutes of the twenty-minute wait she comes in and asks how I am doing and sees me with my eyes closed and she asks me: So, how are you doing? and my response: I'm in my happy place. Then she looks at my arm and annouces that they are going to do the reading early. Apparently on a scale of 1-5 my dust mite bump was a 7. The doctor and I actually discussed not proceeding with the dust allergy injections because of a chance of a really bad reaction. Needless to say I carry my uber-anithistamines and broncho-dialaters everywhere I go. Just in case.
