Story from some people I go ATVing with. by techi870 2006-11-19 12:55:59

On Sunday July 31, 2005 a group of ATV riders from Calgary were out in the Crowsnest Pass area. They were heading up a trail when they came across a Pontiac Grand Prix.

In the car was a 88 year old gentleman who had become disoriented and driven up a mountain (Alzheimer's was suspected and later confirmed by the family). The portion of the trail where the car was found was 4 Km from the mail road. The riders that found him gave him some water and transported him back down the trail. They found a phone at a local mine that they used to call some one to come and pick up the gentleman.

The man's son went in a couple of days later with a 4x4 to get the car out. He said that there were a few areas he didn't even want to take his truck through. The family has emailed the people involved and told them the gentleman is doing fine thanks to them. Here are a couple of pictures of the car on the trail.
