There's an island 1000 klicks away from the North Pole, 1.3 square kilometers, that is surrounded by ice so heavy that only three years out of the last 17 has anyone been able to visit it... and the Danes are sending a WARSHIP to it to enforce SOVEREIGNTY?! I mean, really, what use is holding this island? "Look, our country's area is now 1.3 square kilometers bigger! And we have almost unlimited access to fantastic natural resources, like ... uh ...
