take responsibility here. For one, they are the ones that know where the people in question have been, what they've been through; they have more than a dossier to go on.
A related dilemma: what about people going on long leave? (Say, 6 months or so.) They, too, have the reflexes; but they are going to need them again; but they *will* be out on the streets in this time.
Should they be encouraged not to carry during their leave?
(I can already imagine you scoffing at the idea. ^,^)
Should they go through a minor "civilian life" course, and then get some quick training in before they're sent out again?
(This sounds hopelessy ineffective to me, and maybe even dangerous when they get back in the war.)
Should we just cross our fingers and hope for the best?
(Is this something to be left to luck?) |
