with a gun? He should obviously not have been carrying, given the fact that he used his gun without provocation. The fact that he fired four bullets and missed might say something about his lack of training/experience, too, but I'm not a good judge of that. As regards the veteran: I understand. He got shot at, and so he more-or-less naturally fired back. It shouldn't have happened, of course, but that's due to others more than to him.
