My job is in photography, and we have big vats of fix ("fix" is the chemical that bleaches away the unexposed silver) around. It's mostly ammonium thiosulfate and sodium sulfite, with some aluminum sulfate and a bit of acetic acid and citric acid.

It makes a very good disinfectant for minor cuts, but I wouldn't recommend it for regular usage...
