If not, you will need a USB adapter (new Macs don't have the mic jack). Get a mic with noise cancelling to eliminate the AC sound-- should be able to find them for about $20. Plantronics is a good brand, and reliable. I like my headset model, though I prefer a headset that doesn't actually have an earphone on it-- I like my ears to be open to the world. The Talkmic was great for that, and a terrific mic for speech recognition, but at $100+, it's probably out of your range. What are you using it for? Just recordings? Speech recognition? Live chat? Podcasting?
