Y'know, I usually don't complain about ads, but by Arman X 2005-08-04 10:06:29
that ad for "lowermybills.com" (er, I guess it's supposed to be a pig?) is rather annoying. A lot. I can deal with the "hit the mailbox" ads (even though 1, they promote something illegal, and 2, they are flash), and I laugh ad the odd things the google ads pop up, but something about having an elongated hog flapping up and down and popping his nose in and out is enough to make me look for means of ad-blocking. I'm not complaing about ads in general, mind you - I just dislike having a favorite site turned into a glitzy, ugly, sub-par webpage by the addition of one ugly ad.

Why do people think "ugly badly-animated flash" is so much better than a nice informative .gif? Or a jpeg, for that matter! I'm not about to click on that pig. I might click on the mailbox one, just to see what happens, and I know I've clicked on other ads (most of the UF ones, to be sure), but I'm not about to reward annoyingness. I wish there were a way to vote on how good ads look, and have those votes actually be put to good use (at the time of ad-creation)...
