Actually, I had a nasty finger wound once at a time that I was workingin a chem lab, and would spritz some cleaning alcohol onto it daily, since the bottles were there anyway. The inflammation went away surprisingly rapidly. The alcohol was not intended for disinfecting, but worked like a charm.
I just randomly remembered that, and got to thinking of other occasions where I might want or need a disinfectant, and since I almost never have alcohol at hand, I was wondering about the respective effectiveness. |
