DVD videos (PAL encoding and stuff?) by kyrasantae 2005-07-24 19:19:44
That thread way down there about DVD players reminded me of something.

I have a handful of home video DVDs from my relatives in Hong Kong. I want to watch them here, and although burned DVDs are ususally region-free (as they are in this case), these are encoded using PAL framerate and so I can't watch them on my name-brand (not knockoff brand) DVD player. I tried viewing them on my computer in WMP, but I don't get any sound. Anything I can do (short of getting a new DVD player that can play it - and is that even possible in Canada)?

Thanks :)

(catch that smile, folks!)
