different speaker set, same speakers. They sound fine, even tomshardware said they've got a really good range, only thing that's a touch on the lacking side is the subwoofer but that's comparing it to some of the several hundred dollar ones. For it's size, it's a really good subwoofer. for one, though, avoid USB "soundcards" on the whole, they suck. If this is for a laptop, the PCMCIA Audigy 2 ZS will be a nice upgrade on the sound (as I suspect that you've got AC97 right now and well, AC97 SUCKS)
