What I do want includes recording TV shows, for which there are three options I see. First is directly to media - VHS or DVD. I've tried this. Replacing, rewinding, being carefull that the tape is long enough if I'd want to record two movies broadcasted one after another, etc. Didn't work. Second is using a TV tuner on a PC. Well, let me tell you that exiting a game when a scheduled recording starts is *really* annoying, not to mention that I can't lock the computer while it's recording, so that doesn't sound too good either. Third option of course is... err... kind of like the third option. The expensive one. ;) Well, there are other models from different companies, but so far I haven't seen one with a price low enough to justify lack of network which could be nice for these recordings.
