Time to buy a new DVD player. by Khaar 2006-11-19 12:55:59
Fine, a DVD player. Until recently PS2 did a good enough job, but now it's starting to reject some DVD movies ("unable to read disc").
With the flood of DVD players on the market and to save time comparing them (whatever the differences might be), I've limited myself to just one local online store. So, which of the following would you pick?

Philips home cinema LX 8300SA (¤325)
KiSS DP-1500 (¤165)
KiSS DP-558 (¤508)

Unlike the Philips one (sorry, couldn't find a decent link) both KiSSes are just DVD players, although both are networked. Not that that plays much of a role, but DP-1100 (without network) isn't all that cheaper. 558, however, also includes 80GB HDD for recording TV shows which the other two can't do.

Seems I'm unable to convince myself I don't need anything more than just a box to put a disc in and press Play button...

Ups, have to run now. I'll read replies (if there are any) when I get back (soon).
