But you also fail to consider how well the police followed orders and how well they knew what they were doing. As I said, some key questions are how they tried to corner him, and what proof they gave him that they were police before pulling a gun. I'd also like to know where he was when he tripped and they shot him. If he was not around a lot of people, then it was only themselves who they were trying to protect (though I gather that he was in a crowded area, but I haven't actually heard this for sure).
