the right of a father to a say in whether his child lives or dies. In the other, fallow is asserting an opinion of three police officers' performance of duties in a field that, as far as I can tell, she has neither training nor technical competence in.
If JD were to express an opinion, I'd say his experience and training at least partially (corrections officer != street cop) qualifies him. Neither I nor fallow are qualified to express an opinion of these officers' actions, as far whether they were doing their job correctly.
In one instance, I'm defending the right to HAVE an opinion. In the other, I'm saying that someone has no qualifications to express an opinion. I'm sorry if that's not clear to you, but it's the best I can do. |
