we couldn't have public accountability for anything!

And anyways, I don't mean to villify the officers. It's no picnic here for them either. I'm just angry at the whole situation. Questions need to be asked here, and the police bloody well owes the public some answers. Shooting an unarmed man is something that you need some pretty strong justification for in a free society, and unless they can show us that justification, a lot of us are going to be pretty angry. We need to know who made what decisions and what they were basing them on. Somewhere there were serious mistakes made.
