How we react to them is also quite important. "Blame the terrorists" is also the warcry of the republicans who introduce things like the PATRIOT act.
Did the cops react properly? Maybe, maybe not. From what I've seen, I'd say no. Why did one cop fire five rounds to the head, for example? Sounds like he panicked. Did the other officers feel the need to shoot him?
And I don't know how stupid it was. Did they show badges before trying to chase him down, or did they just pull guns on him? There are a lot of details that we don't have, but so far, it sounds like he ran because he didn't know who they were. |
