Police shot non-terrorist in London by Kickstart 2006-11-19 12:55:59
here - However, I think the police did the right thing, with a couple assumptions.

  • That the police were not plainclothesmen...otherwise he might have assumed that they were just idiots looking to beat up a minority.
  • That he didn't stop when told to...and apparently could understand English.
  • That the police didn't shoot him for the crime of having dark skin.
Sad, but wholly understandable that the police didn't take chances. My thought is that this guy was either mentally ill or this was suicide-by-cop. In any case, I'm glad that the police acted for the safety of the public.
