I picked up Python (plus the VPython visual package) in about 20 minutes the first time I looked at it; it's much easier to learn than most other programming languages. Part of that has to do with the fact that the syntax is very simple and there are very few restrictions on what you can do - to the point where it annoys me, actually, because some of the things it lets you do won't trigger compiler errors but will guarantee an error in runtime. Keep an eye out for that.
