Ack. EE help needed, please... by McNutcase2005-06-17 13:48:12
The difference between 50 and 60 Hz. is by Peace_man2005-06-17 14:07:26
    You're certain of that? by McNutcase2005-06-17 14:10:52

use it. Most likely the manufacturer just omitted labelling the fact that it would work both at 50 and at 60. Look here for more information.

Basically, there are two problems. More heat, and less even power. More heat because of more current, and less even power because 50 Hz has fewer 'peaks' than 60. Both less significant at low power levels.

If it were mine, I would just do it. It is a lot easier than trying to find a proper adapter. And the only thing you are risking is the adapter, not the laptop. The laptop has enough voltage regulation internally with the battery that the difference between 50 and 60 should not make any difference.

        OK, re-read. NOT a laptop, mate. A PDA. by McNutcase2005-06-17 14:24:04
