| Ack. EE help needed, please... |

my knowledge of how electronics work is sketchy at best. I'm in the fortunate position of having everything I need to use either side of the Atlantic being dual-voltage, dual-frequency, but my dearly beloved, being a US person, is less fortunate (danged parochial manufacturers!); only her laptop is OK with straight UK house current. Her Palm's charger is 120VAC, 60Hz, 58mA; my question is, once we've stepped the voltage down to its preferred flavourless level, will it be OK on our 50Hz cycle or will it flip out and go doolally?
Now you see why I like being in the UK; manufacturers actually admit that there are other electrical systems out there, and design to cope with them... and no, using my Palm's cradle isn't possible. I have a Tungsten C, and her Zire 21 doesn't do cradles, and probably wouldn't like the plug from my charger, even if I could get it reachable... |
