get a prosecutor to do something that is not within the normal working parameters for that prosecutor.

You are correct in that it is appropriate to investigate potential murders - but it is the job of the prosecutor's office to determine what is worth investigating, and what isn't. For the governor to ask is using his political clout as a governor to interfere in the normal operation of that office. Do you see why this is wrong?

As for the motives Jeb might have for doing such a thing - well, we can only guess. And my first guess is not that it is to protect the public from Mr. Schiavo.
