Is there a warehouse club like Sam's or Costco in the area? It's been a lifesaver for my brother when his daughter came along. The savings on a couple packs of diapers pretty much pays for the membership fee. You can also get cheap but high quality meat, milk, and non-perishables.
The obstacles of course are hauling and storing a case of baby food or formula, or whatever else staple your family uses, or freezing a double bag of fish or hamburger meat. And paying for it all at one go. But if you can stock up on the staples every 30-45 days, live out of your freezer, and just go to the store for fruits and veggies, you can save a lot. |
