if you add some metal to it you get a screwdriver. if you add a head it's a hammer. that's great until the screwdriver blade gets bent and you have a stick again. with more tools you can make more complicated things like a car. which is easier to fix yourself a car or a single speed bike? fewer parts make the bike easier to fix, and easier to use, but limited in some ways. if you only need limited cargo space in good weather a car doesn't make sense.
