Bloatware IS bad: by ideur 2005-06-17 02:35:30
Does not matter if its in software or not!
I.E.
Does your text editor really need the capability to read email, news and browse the web? Takes longer to load, chances are that you activate a feature you don't know by accident and destroy something you wanted to keep. (EMACS)
Or
Have a look at your car:
Do you really need that huge 4x200 Watt "stereo" when a 2X5 Watt is big and loud enough? The bigger stereo also puts a unnecessary load on the battery and alternator. Then, Do you really need that 300+HP engine under the hood? when a 100HP engine is more than powerfull enough to bring you and your family from point A to point B at the same speed with much less gas usage. If i look at the I-10 in New Orleans, i get the feeling that i could be faster by walking anyway!
