you have to do much more literally copying to infringe. If you scan whole pages and put them as jpegs on your site, you are infringing. If you type down several pages, including comments etc., you're infringing.

If you just have a (latin) sentence, and the english translation, who can say whos copyright you could be possibly infringing? From the comic 'Asterix'? From schoolbooks for latin? Or the compilation you actually own? All of them?

So, as long as you really just use one sentence here, or a phrase there, you should be totally clear.

Of course, just my 2cents, IANAL etc. etc.
