I was completely unaware of this thread until late today -- about two hours ago in fact. Had I been aware of it earlier, it would've been moderated immediately.
Some time ago I posted this in a thread that involved UFies sniping at each other over at the LiveJournal site. The sniping was starting to bleed over into UF. This is a no-no.
And I don't really give a rats nutbush how oblique the sniping is. If it started over at LJ, or Blogspot, or Mother Theresa's Arena for the Bilous then please keep it there. Heck, you can drag it all over Hell's half acre for all I care -- but you do NOT bring it here.
Posting something like what was moderated below can only lead to eliciting responses that make this forum a worse place. Also, posting something like that here serves but ONE purpose -- to bring a UFie (or ex UFie)'s perceived shortcomings to a larger audience. How can this be possibly helpful? How does it enrich the forum here? Most of all, it doesn't share anything that matters. Lame jokes are worth more to the forum than dragging hostility through here.
It was my fault (and I apologize) that I didn't explain this clearly enough with my ruling mentioned above, and Kickstart's interpretation of it, though wrong, is quite understandable to me. I've had a chat with him about it and he agrees that my position as explained in this post makes a lot more sense.
There's also the question of some people having trouble with the blurring of the line between KS' role as moderator and his right to post as a member. This one is easily solved and is already in place: if you question his (or any moderator's) objectivity, please talk to me.
That's it. Back to your regularly scheduled procrastinations. |
