I was cool with your handling of the discussion until this.
Their shoddy reporting could have done more to start a real Islamic Jihad against America than anything proven to be done by the Bush Adminsitration to date.
I'm sorry, but if you think the Islamic world really took greater umbrage to the idea of a Koran being tossed in a toilet - which, let's not forget, may well have happened, given the multiple corroborating stories, Newsweek just shouldn't have reported it without a firm source - than the torture and murder at Abu Ghraib... that's just nuts.

Yes, Newsweek screwed up bad and they should own up to it. Saying their screwup was worse than the actions of the people at Abu Ghraib and (allegedly at) Gitmo is plain out insane, and I can't even imagine what logical defense you have for it.
