I'm starting to get fed up/stressed out at my current job. Here's a current list of grievences:
Weekends, I have to work weekends 1 month out of three.
Pay, as a tier 2 I earn 1/hour more then the tier 1 techs, my wage is about 24k/year.
We just need double the tier 2s and tier 3 and other support staff
Our tier1's are also short staffed and they are almost all brand new
We need more people on the phones, but we don't have any more phones, and our pbx is maxed out for phones
Most of our computers are compaqs w/400mhz processors 128mb of ram and winXPhome
Communication consists of us finding out when something new is in the field by having clients call us and us having to support them
We need to be proactive to be able to keep call volumes down, unfrotunatly we are so short staffed we can just react to problems as they happen.
The tier 2 and tier 3 techs have to support installers in the field as well. We have 3 tier 2 techs and 1 tier 3 tech.
The thing is, the people I work with are great. The people above me (all except one) are very good to work for, they recoginize the problem but thier hands are tied by head office. We've been losing techs at an incredible rate, the last person to quit was one of our "core" support agents, not easily replacable. (They consider tier1 techs replacable!)
The last tech leaving prompted the boss to talk to head office about increasing incentives and pay for people to stay. I figure the tier 1 techs should be earning 14$/hour and the tier 2 and above should earn at least 4$/hour more then that.
I know I'm worth 32k/year MINIMUM, I have opportunities ope where I could earn more. What do you guys think, if they meet my pay expectations stay? |
