line of spicyness. When I first ate a homemade southern meal, I almost choked. It was sooo spicy. Now, it is not that much of a problem to eat the spiciest of southern dishes. It takes time. It's like going from the "hot" packets to "fire" packets of the Taco Bell sauce. You just need to ween yourself closer and closer. Eat a meal with a little bit of tobasco sauce, then next time make a meal with some jalepenos. I can't bet that you'll be able to eat habaneros, but pretty damn close.
Btw, it's better to drink milk when your mouth feels like it's on fire. There's something in it that helps your taste buds when you DO eat something that is overly spicy. True, there are people born with sugary taste buds like yours...some candy and fruit is just waaaaay too sweet for me. I don't think my tongue likes salt either.
Remember, the sense of taste is a wonderful thing. Some people take it for granted, like my b.f.(he doesn't know a tasty meal when he's had one).
