    B.C. Provincial Election. by Illiad 2005-05-17 11:57:18
This is the election at the provincial level, for British Columbia.

The major parties are the Liberals (who are business-friendly, right of centre), New Democrat Party (labour union-friendly, left of centre) and Green Party (environment friendly, left of centre).

The Liberals form the current Provincial government. When I say right- or left- of centre, remember that "centre" is defined as the middle of the road for Canadian politics, which are generally left of the U.S. political spectrum.

Just to make things even more confusing, there is no love between the B.C. Liberals and the Federal Liberals. They don't get along at all really. :) There does seem to be a strong bond forming between B.C.'s Greens and the Federal Greens, of which I am a card-carrying member.
