not releasing official figures until the West has voted would help, but the media would still broadcast the results of exit polls. The only solution I can see is to finish voting late in the east and early in the west. The effect on BC voters of hearing the Ontario/Quebec results before getting off work is not good for national unity. A friend and I didn't bother voting in an early 90s election because the results were already decided. We just went to a bar for a drink. Quite disheartening.
