someone else? Yes, I agree Newsweek needs to retract the story and punish the writer, as I mentioned here. But you don't think using their screwup as some kind of "proof" that those things don't happen (despite the numerous independent reports that they do) and as a defense against the other problems at Gitmo is just as bad a copout? I think the administration's going to milk this as long as they can while not changing a thing down there. The part about this that worries me most is that the media as a whole - liberal and conservative alike - is getting a reputation for just making s4 up to get headlines and audience members. Too much crying wolf, and nobody will ever be able to break a real story and be credible anymore.
