Strange monitor noise by vectorz2005-05-17 09:16:11

from the horizontak o=scillator being slightly out of whack. A power supply problem could well be the culprit. White does indeed draw the most power. Do you notice anything different on a image wher ethe screen is mostly white? Something along the lines of shrinking of the screen slightly or 'jumpiness'? These would also be caused by a weak supply. I had a TV set once that would lose the botton 1/4 of the picture on a full white screen. One of the DC power supply outputs was dropping by several volts and causing one of the oscillators to clip. Replaced a regulator and it was good as new (in fact, we are still using it in our bedroom, that was several years ago).
