The first round would have been in the barrel.
And yes, the sound was different. Just a light pop from the primer, not that *bang* from a 190 grains or so of powder.
My only question was, since these were semi-automatic pistols, would the next round have actually fired. My understanding is the back-blast of the previous round is what racks the slide, ejects the old brass, and loads a new round. If it was just primer, would have new round have actually loaded?
Of course, I could be wrong on the type of pistol he was firing.
