I've been stationed in California and Texas. I agree, California is a loony state. Granola state, as we used to say: Land of fruits, nuts and flakes. It was a bit too liberal for me; but I adhere to the idea that if whatever you're looking at is too liberal/creepy, then turn the freaking channel and look elsewhere.
I happen to like Texas, I met my wife there. There are bad places, good places, and in-between. Just like everywhere else. I'll be durned if I'd live in the northeast (From Maryland to Maine and out west to Michigan, forget it), but I know folks who love it there.
Texas is very pro-veteran, pro-military, and has a very rich history. Not to mention that you can get Shiner Bock on draft in most places. I like Shiner Bock so much, I named my dog after it. |
