With members of many militaries, both officers and enlisted. And though the Western armies do place more responsibility in their enlisted troops than Eastern armies do (did?), no large scale, organized military trained for high intensity conflict does it to the extent of the American military.

My opinion, of course, but based on experience.

That doesn't mean that I think we're the best, it just means it's what I've seen.

For the record, I've either been deployed with or trained with:

Brits
Canadians
French
Belgian
Spanish Airborne
Portugese Special Forces
Austrailian
Japaneese
Thai
Pakastani
Morrocan
Italian Alpine Brigade
Norwegian Infantry
German Air Defense and Armor units
South Koreans

So I think I've seen a pretty fair cross-section of militaries world wide, and how they operate.

And now I've fallen into one of the pitfalls of starting a flame war...I've posted my resume. =P Please take it for what's it worth, and not an attempt to incite anyone.
